Here are a few of my favorite organizations to volunteer for or donate to. If any strike your interest, please please look into them and/or reach out to me to learn more about them!
- Visually Impaired Preschool Services (VIPS)
- I serve on the Governing Board, the Governance Committee and the Indiana Community Council. This organization is doing amazing things to address the needs of families with young children who are blind or visually impaired. Check out our new building in downtown Indianapolis!
- Covering Kids and Families of Indiana (CKF)
- I serve on the Board and the Policy Committee. CKF is leading the way on ensuring children and families in Indiana have health insurance coverage. Check out our information about Medicaid Unwinding or about the Indiana School Health Conference!
- Young Nonprofit Professionals Network
- This is an amazing national network of Young Professionals. I helped found the Indy Chapter of this organization, as well as the 2018 National conference in Indianapolis. Check out whether a YNPN chapter is active in your city!
- Fred’s Mission and Rescue
- We got our pandemic puppy from Fred’s Mission and Rescue. Her name is Penny, and I love her dearly. Check out their adoptable dogs!
- Trinity Haven Indy
- This is an amazing organization filling a huge need in our state: ensuring that every LGBTQ youth in Indiana has safe, welcoming, and affirming housing within a caring community. Check out their amazon wishlists for household items!
- FACE Low-cost Animal Clinic
- Back in the day, our cat got spayed at FACE, which provides affordable veterinary care for Indianapolis dogs and Cats. If you’re not allergic like me, check out their volunteer opportunities!
- SAFY – Specialized Alternatives for Families and Youth
- We are working with SAFY through the process of becoming foster parents. They have been absolutely amazing to work with, even when things are difficult. If you’ve ever considered fostering, check out this organization!
